How is Africa-UK is funded and run?
Africa UK is part of the Common Ground Initiative; a grant-making, influencing and learning programme supporting the contribution of African Diaspora. The Common Ground Initiative is managed by Comic Relief with funding from DFID and the Baring Foundation.
Africa UK is implemented by the Royal African Society and AFFORD (African Foundation for Development). The Royal African Society has been working over for over 100 years to foster a greater understanding of Africa in the UK and to celebrate the diversity and depth of African culture. AFFORD is an African Diaspora organisation which supports jobs and enterprise creation in Africa. Its mission is to enhance and expand the capacity of Africans in the Diaspora to contribute to Africa's development.
